Pastor John Lyon, Jr. is a native of Oxford, NC and is the son of Supt. John and Evang. Gloria Lyon. He holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and currently works in financial services. He has been married to his college sweetheart, Desiree Drew Lyon for 27 years. They have four children: John III, Kristen Rebekah, Justine Elise and Samuel Jaron Lyon.

John became an ordained minister in 2000 and an ordained elder in the Church of God in Christ in 2002. Before accepting his pastoral call, John served as a Minister of Music, musician, preaching evangelist, and a teacher in the Charles Harrison Mason Bible College. He ministers in hospitals, youth detention centers, and nursing homes in the Roxboro and Raleigh/Durham areas. His desire is to share the truth of God’s Word and its power to set the captive free. His mission is to reach the lost with the revelation of the gospel of Jesus Christ and to strengthen the resolve of the believer in a day like today.

Pastor Lyon is a praying man who believes the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous avails much and that “This is the confidence we have in approaching God, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” (I John 5:14)
